Rev. Ron Friedrich

Thank you for taking time to browse the official web site of Christ Lutheran Church of the Deaf, Silver Spring, Maryland.   Be sure to check our Bible study archive and take a look at recent issues of the Mustard Seed, our monthly newsletter.  If you have questions or suggestions, I welcome your feedback.

I have served as Pastor of Christ/Deaf since September 2001, arriving here with my family only one week before 9/11.

Previously, I served in Lutheran Deaf ministry in Illinois and Texas.  While in Texas, I served on the board of the local professional interpreters' organization affiated with the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID), and I taught in the interpreter training program of the Dallas Community College system.

I trained for Deaf ministry at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Missouri, graduating in 1976.  Part of my early training brought me to the Gallaudet graduate school.  Little did I expect that I would one day return to fill the shoes of those who had mentored me.

My first field of service was in Northern Illinois, where I met and married Georganne Potter.  Georganne can sign and is at home in the fellowship of Deaf Christians.    She is a great encouragement and support for my ministry.

My greatest joy is helping others discover lasting answers to life's difficulties in what God has revealed in the Bible.  I especially want the world to know God's forgiveness and peace in Jesus Christ.

Ron
